Our digital based recording studio is capable of  recording 24 simultaneous tracks, where as a majority of our competition is only able to record eight at one time, barely enough to properly record a full drum set.  Feel free to call around to confirm this.  But what does this mean to you?  It means we are one of the few facilities in the Hampton Roads area capable of truly recording your entire band the way you play best....as a group.  The benefit is a more natural and organic live performance  that can result in a better recording.  Although this type of recording is beneficial to many bands it may not be beneficial to your band.  Our engineer will discuss this with you at the beginning of your session or to see if you may prefer to record each instrument separately.  

     IRS is not just a "band" facility.  We offer full production for Rap/Hip-hop artists, singer/songwriters, and solo vocalists.  Our producers can help you in attaining musicians for your project as well as complete backing tracks for Hip-hop artists, both tagged and untagged.

     We here at IRS also want to take some of the mystery out of recording.  The more you understand the recording process the more you understand what makes a good recording.  Our engineers will gladly explain the "why" and "how" of your session everystep of the way.  If you are interested in the engineering pocess but don't wish to spend any of your valuable studio time listening to an explanation then feel free to attend one of our training seminars.
